Flumserberg, Switzerland
On Sunday we took a one hour train ride to Flumserberg to go hiking for the day. Flumserberg is an area that offers amazing summer activities like hiking, guided hiking, riding the Floomser, and mountain biking. In the winter it is a very popular ski destination. The weather was great--a perfect mix of cool fall air and warm summer sunshine!
Our friend, Ben Marshall, joined us for the adventure. Ben moved from Atlanta to Zurich last week for a new job. It was great to have a familiar face join us and someone else that recognizes the American songs that are always playing in Switzerland. After our four hour hike we settled in to enjoy a beer and "Midnight train to Georgia" started playing. Perfect timing!
This scenery was slightly different from other hikes we have done. Although we were at a high altitude, 2500M, the terrain was relatively rolling as compared to the steep rise and fall or switchbacks of other hikes. This made for some a bit of off trail exploring and expansive views.
After a short but steep final climb, we all enjoyed a few minutes of rest at the summit. The views were well worth the journey.
Our train ride back was a little cramped. We ran to catch the 5:37 train and just made it in time, however it was extremely crowded and this small hallway was the only place left for us to stand. After all day on my feet, this awkward sit/squat was much better than being upright. Overall, we had a great day and can't wait to head back to Flumserberg for ski season.

Paris, France
Our delicious breakfast at Robin and Camille's apartment.
After breakfast we started the day on the Champs-Élysées....
...then headed to the Louvre...
...then made a quick stop at a bridge to buy a lock and throw away the key...
(can you find our lock?! Use your Where's Waldo skills.)
...and we ended the day at Notre Dame!
Here's Jeremy posing in their teeny tiny elevator. We somehow managed to squeeze three full size adults in there.
We headed out to dinner near the Eiffel Tower. It was so beautiful and romantic. The tower twinkles on the hour. It is magical.
On our last day we laid low and hung out together since Jeremy was starting to feel like he was catching a cold. We headed out to meet some of Camille's friends in a park to grab come coffee. It was the perfect way to end a perfect Paris weekend.
